Coimbatore City Round Table 31 and Coimbatore City Ladies Circle 16 have been carrying out impactful community service projects for the past 50 years. As part of this year’s Round Table India Week, they conducted Project Rainbow in collaboration with Sankara Eye Hospital at Corporation Middle School, Kottai, on 11th November 2025.
Project Rainbow is an annual eye-screening initiative for government school children. This year, the programme was expanded to include myopia detection services in response to the rising incidence of childhood myopia, and free spectacles were provided to the children.
On 12th November, National Limb Donation Day was observed at the Artificial Limb Centre, RS Puram, with participation from all Round Tables of Coimbatore. The event successfully raised funds for nearly 200 artificial limbs, and 15 beneficiaries from across Tamil Nadu received free prosthetic limbs.

As part of the RTI Week celebrations, Clock Tower Day was held at the iconic Clock Tower near the North Coimbatore Flyover. The event was presided over by Koushik Ragunath, Area 7 Chairman, and Mandhagini Thulasi, Area 7 Chairperson, who highlighted the various initiatives undertaken throughout the week to mark the anniversary of Round Table’s inception in India.
To conclude RTI Week activities, Coimbatore City Round Table 31 and Coimbatore City Ladies Circle 16, in collaboration with Ganga Hospital, advanced their recently launched initiative, Project Healing Steps. The project has already facilitated surgery and treatment for around 40 underprivileged children with orthopaedic deformities, helping them improve mobility and overall quality of life.
