The Coimbatore Cancer Foundation observed Cancer Survivors Day on 14th June 2025, bringing together cancer survivors and patients from various hospitals to celebrate resilience, hope, and healing.
Saravanan, Ex-Navy and General Manager – Administration at Janatics India, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Dr. Sivaranjini from the Department of Information Technology, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, was present as the Guest of Honour, and Dr. Mohan from the Department of Physiology, PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, was the Special Invitee.

At the event, survivors held lit candles in remembrance of their battles with cancer, symbolising their strength and hope throughout the journey.
In his address, the Chief Guest praised the courage and resilience of those who had overcome cancer. He emphasised the importance of adopting a healthier lifestyle post-cancer to lead a fulfilling and contented life.
The Guest of Honour spoke about the emotional toll of cancer and encouraged people never to feel ashamed or afraid of being called a cancer warrior. She highlighted the critical role of support from family and friends in helping patients navigate the challenges of treatment and recovery.

Survivors shared heartfelt stories of their diagnosis, treatment journeys, and the emotional rollercoaster they experienced. They acknowledged the immense support they received from their loved ones, healthcare teams, and counsellors, which gave them the strength to push forward.
Current patients undergoing treatment also shared their experiences, emphasising the importance of inner and physical health. They reflected on life’s deeper meanings—how cancer is just one event in a long journey and how it can be faced with courage and hope.

The special invitee, Dr. Mohan, conducted an interactive session where audience members were invited to share their thoughts on life and cancer. A special activity was arranged where participants picked a reflective question and shared their insights, revealing the diverse perspectives on cancer, healing, and gratitude.
The event also featured a lively singing session as entertainment for the survivors. It concluded with feedback from the audience and the distribution of appreciation gifts to cancer survivors.
