To honour the memory of APJ Abdul Kalam, CMS College of Science and Commerce organised the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Memorial Trophy 2024-25, an inter-school competition, recently.
More than 1,000 students from 30 schools across Coimbatore district enthusiastically participated in the event.
The competition featured a variety of events, including Essay Writing, Elocution, Quiz, Solo Dance, Solo Singing, Group Dance, and sports events such as Kho-Kho, Volleyball, and Football.
The students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and talent throughout the programme.
Winners received cash prizes, while all participants were awarded participation certificates.
The Overall Trophy was bagged by C.M.S. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ganapathy, with a total of 55 points, while T.K.S. Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chinnavedampatti, secured the first runner-up position with 30 points, and C.M.S. Vidya Mandir Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Maniakaranpalayam, took the second runner-up position with 20 points.
The programme was inaugurated by Gereesan, Chairman of CMS Educational and Charitable Trust, who, in his inaugural address, highlighted “the importance of sportsmanship and how physical activity contributes to achieving mental excellence.”
Sajish Kumar, Vice Chairman, and Chandrakumar, Secretary, felicitated the gathering, while Sashidharan, Joint Secretary, and Vijayakumar, Treasurer, graced the occasion with their presence.
