Round Table India and Ladies Circle India in Coimbatore, called shortly as Coimbatore City Tables and Circles organized a Clock Tower Day celebration recently at Clock Tower premises in Vadakovai, Mettupalayam Road, aligning with the Round Table of India Week 2024 (11.11.24 to 17.11.24).

During this entire week, Tablers and Circlers will be involved in various social activities such as tree-planting, blood donation, artificial limb donation etc.

Ranganayaki, Mayor of Coimbatore joined the celebration as the Chief Guest, while Tr. Ragulan Shekar, Area 7 Chairman, Round Table India participated as the Guest of Honour.

Aishwarya Gupta, Chairperson, Ladies Circle Area; Arun, Chairman of Round Table of India Area 20 and Tablers and Circlers of Area 7 attended the program.

The clock tower was first inaugurated on the 30th of December 1994 by Round Tables of Coimbatore City to mark the national annual general meeting of Round Table India here.

It was renovated in 2019 with many modern and technologically advanced features by the Round Tables of the city.

Round Table India (RTI) and Ladies Circle India (LCI) hold the utmost importance to building school blocks under their signature and long-term project called ‘Freedom Through Education.’ RTI has 350 chapters and LCI has 200 chapters across India.

Highlighting their recent accomplishments, the NGOs said that in the last 26 years, 9272 classrooms have been built in 3782 schools across India to the tune of Rs. 485 crore. Through this more than 1 crore students have benefitted.

Ranganayaki congratulated the NGOs for giving significant importance to education through their project. She said that the Dravidian Model Government in Tamil Nadu gives utmost priority to education; hence the Coimbatore Corporation would support the NGOs in all their activities that are related to education.

Earlier, Round Tables and Ladies Circles from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Pollachi, Calicut, Cochin, and Ranchi contributed 240 limbs to those in need.

On this occasion, 12 beneficiaries from in and around Coimbatore received artificial limbs.

The Artificial Limb Centre, with its 38-year legacy run by Coimbatore City Round Table 31 and Coimbatore City Ladies Circle 16, has been transforming lives by restoring mobility and independence. Located in Puram near the Ladies Club, this centre stands as a beacon of support and service, offering life-changing assistance to those in need.

On this occasion blood donors were recognized for their invaluable service by Tabler Manoj, Parimala Principal and Regional Director, Dept of Education Rajendran. Raghulan, Area Chairman Shekar, Area Chairperson Aishwarya Gupta and National Secretary Vishnu Prabhakaran were the chief guests for the event.

Convenor of the Artificial Limb Centre Arihant Parikh, Chairman Lakshmiganth, Chairperson Vidhya, along with city Table Chairmen and Chairpersons were present.
