As part of the Indian Navy Day celebrations, the Indian Navy organised a career motivation program to the students of PSG College of Technology and PSG Polytechnic College on 5th December 2025.

The program aimed to encourage students to join the Indian Armed Forces and contribute to national security with pride and honour.

The session was addressed by Cdr. Ravishh Chugh, Cdr. Parthiban and Lt. Anand, interacted with the students and shared insights about career opportunities in the Navy.

Prakasan, Principal of PSG College of Technology, and Giriraj, Principal of PSG Polytechnic College, felicitated the speakers.

The session began with a welcome speech delivered by Prakasan, who highlighted the institution’s ongoing commitment to shaping disciplined and patriotic citizens and producing a significant number of defence personnel from PSG.

Cdr Parthiban inaugurated the program and emphasised the importance of leadership, physical fitness, and determination required for a career in the defence services. His lecture focused on three key aspects: Maritime Safety, Women’s Empowerment, and a Drug-Free Society.

Lt. Anand, an experienced officer from the Indian Navy, elaborated on various defence entry opportunities, including NDA, CDS, INET, Agnipath, SSB Interviews, Technical Entry Schemes, and other Officer and Junior Commissioned Officer/Other Ranks (JCO/OR) exams. He inspired students with real-life stories of courage, discipline, and commitment from military life.

An informative presentation covered topics such as the Indian Navy, SSB interview preparation, leadership skills, physical fitness planning, and the qualities desired in officers (Officer-Like Qualities, or OLQs).

This provided students with a clear pathway to pursue careers in defence. The interactive Q&A session received an enthusiastic response, with students expressing keen interest in different branches of the defence forces.

A total of 200 cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), along with other students, actively participated in the program.

The Indian Navy planted a sapling in the campus as a part of the Navy Day Celebrations.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Lt. Veeramani, ANO, 5/4 TN BN NCC, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons and the institution’s leadership for their continuous support in empowering young aspirants.

This Defence Career Motivation and Awareness Program proved highly impactful, encouraging students to set strong career goals and prepare to join the Indian Armed Forces proudly.
