Flight Cadets Dharun K ( B.Sc. Electronics) and Anushuyaa (B.Sc. Biochemistry) from PSG College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, represented the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Directorate at the All India Vayu Sainik (AIVS) Camp 2026 recently.
Organised by 1 TN AIR SQN NCC, Chennai at Tambaram Air Force Station, this prestigious national-level camp brought together approximately 646 Air Wing NCC cadets from 17 NCC Directorates across India.
The Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Directorate was represented by 38 cadets, comprising 24 Senior Division and 14 Senior Wing cadets. Eight cadets from 2 TN AIR SQN NCC participated in the camp, including the two cadets from PSGCAS, following a rigorous selection process.
The camp provided a platform to assess cadets’ proficiency in various aspects of Air Wing training, including microlight flying, aeromodelling, drone technology, rifle firing, skeet shooting, drill and tent pitching. The event also highlighted the growing participation of women in aviation, providing Senior Wing cadets with opportunities to demonstrate their skills and capabilities at the national level.
