CMS College of Science and Commerce recently organised a Bharathiar University Inter-Collegiate Women’s Volleyball Tournament at the college.
The inaugural ceremony was held on 7 October 2026 on the college campus. The dignitaries who inaugurated the tournament were Dr. S. Sandhya Menon, Chief Executive Officer of CMS Group of Institutions; Dr. M. Annapoorani, Principal of CMS Academy of Management and Technology (CMS AMT); Dr. S. A. Mohamed Ali, Principal of CMS Institute of Management Studies (CMS IMS); Dr. V. Sujatha, Vice Principal (Administration), CMS CSC; Dr. P. Salini, Vice Principal (Academics), CMS CSC; and Dr. M. Balachander, Controller of Examinations.
A total of 18 college teams participated in the tournament, showcasing their sporting skills, teamwork, and competitive spirit.
The valedictory ceremony was held on 9 October 2026. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Shri K. Gereesan, Chairman of the CMS Educational and Charitable Trust; Shri V. Chandrakumar, Secretary of the Trust; and Dr. Rajkumar, Head of the Department of Physical Education, Bharathiar University.
The tournament results were as follows:
* First Place: P. K. R. Arts and Science College for Women, Pariyur
* Second Place: Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore
* Third Place: K. G. College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore
* Fourth Place: Bharathiar University
Certificates, medals, and trophies were awarded to the teams securing the first four positions in recognition of their achievements. The event was coordinated by Dr. Krishnamoorthy and Dr. Rajarajeswari. The tournament provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their sporting talents, promote teamwork, and foster sportsmanship among the participating institutions.
