PSG College of Technology hosted the Golden Jubilee Reunion of its 1971–76 batch on Monday. This red-letter event for the batch brought together alumni, spouses, and esteemed former faculty to cherish and honor five decades of shared history and academic legacy.
Krishna Kumar, Vice President – Sales, Aqua Sub and the immediate past president of of PSG Tech Alumni Association took part as Special Guest. Thilagavathy, Principal (FAC) of the college, KPM. Muthukhumaren, President of the PSG Tech Alumni Association and many others attended.
Baskar, Chairman of Students Union – 1976 batch delivered a special address. He invited the batchmates to come together to support the students of the college, and guide them to turn their researches that are at the laboratory scale to become solutions for real-world problems.
” I think that that should be our contribution. I think we should all mobilize our resources, expertise, and whatever funding that we could manage to support research,” he shared.
At the event, around 20 former professors were honoured, in addition to this the event featured the release of a preliminary souvenir album capturing alumni reflections, and the unveiling of a dedicated batch logo and memorabilia.
Beyond nostalgia, the event highlighted the batch’s enduring contribution to its alma mater, including their ongoing efforts to build a research scholarship corpus fund.
Following the official proceedings on campus, the celebration continues at Poppy’s Anaikatti on 8th and 9th of August.Earlier, the attending members of the reunion paid homage to their departed friends and batchmates.
