It recently inaugurated Dr.Chandran’s AquaCare at Sowripalayam featuring Tamil Nadu’s first wheelchair-friendly aqua therapy pool.
Murali Shankar, Judge, Madras High Court inaugurated the facility along with Thavathiru Santhalinga Marudhachalam Adigalar in the presence of Swarnalatha, Managing Trustee and Guruprasad, Trustee, Swarga Foundation.
This center has been envisioned as an inclusive aquatic therapy and wellness centre designed to make the therapeutic benefits of water accessible to persons with disabilities and others who can benefit from aquatic rehabilitation.
The wheelchair-friendly pool has been designed with accessibility at its core, enabling persons with mobility challenges to access aquatic therapy in a safe, supportive and dignified environment. The facility will empower persons with disabilities to receive Water-based rehabilitation to support muscle strengthening, flexibility, balance and coordination in a safe and supportive environment for supervised therapy and adaptive swimming.
