The Anna University Sports Board, with Dr. NGP Institute of Technology (NGP iTech) serving as the Zonal Coordinating Centre for the academic year 2026–2027, conducted the Zone 9 Sports Committee Meeting on Tuesday at the IQAC Boardroom of the institution.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Akshitha, Sports Secretary, followed by an address by Prabha, Principal, who highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork and the overall development of students.
A total of 27 Physical Directors from Anna University-affiliated colleges participated in the meeting and actively discussed the planning and effective conduct of various zonal sports activities.
The members deliberated on the finalisation of venues, dates, fixtures and coordination for the smooth organisation of upcoming sporting events, with a focus on providing better opportunities for students to showcase their sporting talents.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sanjeev, Physical Director, Dr. NGP Institute of Technology.
