The Foundation Day of PSG Polytechnic College will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the college premises. The ceremony will be graced by Kumar Duraiswamy, CEO of Eastern Global Clothing, Tiruppur, as the Chief Guest.
L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, will preside over the event. Giriraj, Principal of the college, will deliver the welcome address.
The Foundation Day marks the establishment of the first private polytechnic college in Tamil Nadu, founded 87 years ago during the pre-independence era. As part of the celebrations, four distinguished alumni of the institute will be honoured.
The selected alumni have been recognised for their contributions to societal development through multidisciplinary research and for pushing the boundaries of Science, Technology, and Engineering with their academic excellence, discipline, and commitment to service.
This year, the four distinguished alumni to be honoured are Ravikumar, Director, Office of the Textile Commissioner, Government of India, Coimbatore; Shanthi, Assistant Executive Engineer, Shift and Maintenance), South Electricity Distribution Circle, TANGEDCO, Coimbatore; Thiyagaraj, Chief Operating Officer, Craftsman Automation Limited, Coimbatore; and Bagyalakshmi Gopinathan, Deputy Director, ERP Business Intelligence & Data Analytics, Department of Defence, Australia.
The awardees will be honoured by the Chief Guest and the Managing Trustee.
The occasion is expected to witness the participation of around 1,000 people, including heads of PSG institutions, alumni, guests, students, and faculty members of PSG Polytechnic College.
