Premam Silks, a Chennai-based saree retailer, inaugurated its “Kalyana Vaibogam”, an exclusive wedding-themed saree expo, at The Residency Towers today, marking the first such event in Coimbatore.
The expo was inaugurated by the chief guest, Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siruthuli, in the presence of Swarnamugi Raghupathy, Founder and Director of Premam Silks; Tarini Kalingarayar, model, content creator and Miss Universe India 2021 runner-up; and Sangeetha Peter, Founder of Poppixel India.
The two-day expo is being held on June 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Senator Hall 1, The Residency Towers.
During the inauguration, Vanitha Mohan unveiled a special saree named “Panchavarnam”. Referring to the parrot motifs featured in the saree, she said, “Like the parrots woven into this saree, let us plant more trees and bring back more parrots to our environment.”
She also congratulated the Premam Silks team on the launch of Kalyana Vaibogam, wished the expo great success, and appreciated the entrepreneurial efforts of Swarnamugi Raghupathy.

The collection features an exquisite range of handpicked sarees, including exclusive Banaras and Kanchivaram silks presented in contemporary concepts and designs. The brand also showcased unique fusion creations such as Bandhini Paithanis and Banaras silks woven with delicate organza borders, offering a refreshing interpretation of traditional craftsmanship while preserving its timeless appeal.

Speaking about the expo, Swarnamugi Raghupathy said, “Kalyana Vaibogam features more than 1,000 wedding sarees. We also have live music as part of the experience. Speaking to The Covai Mail, she said that Premam Silks would soon inaugurate a dedicated outlet in a prime location in Coimbatore. She also revealed plans to organise another expo focused on Navaratri following Kalyana Vaibogam.
