Seven powerlifters from PSG College of Arts & Science represented Bharathiar University at the All India Inter-University Powerlifting Championship 2025–26 held recently at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai.
The PSG athletes delivered an outstanding performance, securing two gold medals, one silver medal, and a fourth-place finish. Their contribution played a key role in helping the Bharathiar University men’s team emerge as the Overall Champions for the first time, with 39 points.
Naveen won the gold medal in the 59 kg category, while Aswalt Praveenraj secured gold in the 120+ kg category. Dharaneesh claimed the silver medal in the 83 kg category, and Dharshan finished fourth in the 74 kg category.
The Bharathiar University team also included Suzil Ahamed (83 kg), Kesav Kaarthick (93 kg), and Saahar (120 kg), all from PSG College of Arts & Science.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for both Bharathiar University and PSG College of Arts & Science, highlighting their growing strength in powerlifting at the national level.
