CII Coimbatore Zone organised a Special Interactive Meeting with Krishnan, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

The interaction centered on positioning Coimbatore as a hub for Semiconductor & Electronics Design and Manufacturing, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), AI for MSMEs, Centre of Excellence for AI & Physical AI, and an R&D Facility for Power Electronics.

Krishnan provided a comprehensive overview of Central Government schemes that Coimbatore can leverage — including schemes for establishing Centers of Excellence, the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) program, Support for capital goods manufacturing for the electronics industry, R&D and common facility infrastructure.

CII Coimbatore presented a strategic representation outlining recommendations to position the city as a national hub across Semiconductors & Electronics, GCCs, and Industrial AI.

The meeting was led by Mahalingam Ramasamy, Vice Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone, with active participation from members representing GCCs, electronics & semiconductors, information technology, automation, artificial intelligence, and deep technology sectors.
