Coimbatore District Collector honored individuals and organizations that actively contributed towards the successful conduct of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections 2026 through voter awareness and public participation initiatives.

The program was organized under the leadership of the Coimbatore District Administration, where the District Collector personally distributed awards and certificates to selected members from various organizations in recognition of their outstanding contribution and dedicated service during the election period.

The voter turnout in Coimbatore district during the previous Tamil Nadu Assembly Election was around 68%, whereas this election witnessed a remarkable increase to nearly 85% voter participation. The organizers and participants felt proud that their continuous grassroots awareness efforts, door-to-door campaigns, public interactions, and voter awareness rallies had contributed significantly towards increasing public participation in the democratic process.

This achievement was seen as a reflection of the collective hard work and commitment shown by the residents’ associations, volunteers, and social organizations involved in the campaign.

Abdul Hakkim – Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) & President, Kuniyamuthur Residents Welfare Association was one of the select individuals who were specially recognised for successfully organising and coordinating the 100% Vote Awareness Campaign, which encouraged residents to actively participate in the democratic process and helped spread awareness about the importance of voting across various residential areas.
