The 8th graduation ceremony of PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) for the 2021–25 batch was held today at the convention centre.
The chief guest, Toshiyuki Suzuki, President and CEO of FANUC India, presented the degree certificates in the presence of L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities.
The Managing Trustee administered the pledge to the graduates.

G.R. Karthikeyan, Chairman, PSG & Sons’ Charities; Mohanram, Secretary of the college; heads of PSG institutions, faculty members, and parents graced the occasion and congratulated the graduates.
Saravanakumar, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address, in which he announced that the college would introduce two UG engineering programmes in the upcoming academic year.
A total of 5 gold medallists and 26 class toppers received their medals and degree certificates.
In the Department of Civil Engineering, 6 ME students and 44 BE students received their degree certificates. From the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, 56 BE students received their certificates, while 53 BE students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and 52 BE students from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering were awarded their degrees.
In the Department of Mechanical Engineering, 1 ME student and 54 BE students received their degree certificates. A few students received their degrees in absentia.

The chief guest, Toshiyuki Suzuki, in his address, congratulated the graduates and spoke about the long-standing relationship between PSG and FANUC, which began in 1980. He stated that PSG has been providing highly trained engineers and supporting the manufacturing sector.
He happily shared that many PSG students are currently working at FANUC and contributing significantly to the organisation. He also said, “We are keen to support PSG iTech in establishing an integrated learning and development centre.”
Speaking about FANUC, he mentioned that the company holds the top market share globally and is actively supporting manufacturers in India.
Further, he noted that while India has great potential, it also faces many challenges.
Addressing the students, he said, “You are entering the real world. Do not limit yourselves to your own area of expertise. Have a broader perspective, take on new challenges, and go abroad so that you can understand both the strengths of India and the areas that need improvement. India’s future is in your hands, and you have unlimited potential.”
