Siruthuli, a reputed NGO working in the space of the water conservation has undertaken restoration work in various sites across the Noyal River System.
It has removed dense vegetation and encroachments in these sites besides removing invasive species, restoration of the river to its original course, clearance of thick overgrowth that had completely covered the anicut, desilting to enhance storage capacity and strengthening & standardization of bunds.

On the occasion of Tamil New Year, it organized a river walk in which the public were taken to visit these sites where restoration efforts have been undertaken by it. The sites included Perur Padithurai, Ukkadam Canal and Kurichi Anicut.
The walk started from Perur Aadheenam at 6 a.m., and proceeded towards the chosen route and ended at 9 a.m. back at the starting point. The program also included a plantation drive at Padithurai and the commencement of Noyyal River Rejuvenation project executed by Siruthuli with the support of Coimbatore District Administration.

Shanthalinga Marudasala Adigalar, the 25th pontiff of the Perur Adheenam; Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli and the public took part in the launch of this project.
