Asokan took over as the Southern Zone Managing Director and State President of IndianOil (Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) on April 1, 2026.
He will also serve as the State Level Coordinator (SLC) for the oil industry in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
A seasoned energy industry leader with over three decades of rich and diverse experience in the oil and gas industry, Asokan has developed deep expertise across multiple sectors including petroleum operations, industrial sales, and retail.
His extensive understanding of the energy business is supported by strong strategic and operational skills.
Asokan holds a Masters in Business Management from the Regional Engineering College (REC), Tiruchirappalli. He has consistently excelled in leadership positions across the country.
He has extensive marketing experience across India, having successfully led key projects, leading various divisions and state-level operations in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
Prior to his current role, Asokan served as the All India Head of Retail at IndianOil Corporation Limited’s head office in Mumbai, where he played a key role in designing and implementing several pioneering retail strategies.
He also has valuable international experience, having served as Vice President (Sales) at Lanka IOC PLC, a subsidiary of IndianOil in Sri Lanka, where he played a key role in expanding fuel marketing operations and strengthening its presence in the market.
In addition to his management responsibilities, Asokan also serves on the Board of Directors of Sun Mobility Private Limited in Singapore, contributing to advancements in sustainable transportation solutions.
