PSGR Krishnammal College for Women inaugurated the GRG EVolve Hub – Centre of Excellence in Electric Vehicles Training and Research, recently.
It is a pioneering initiative aimed at advancing EV skilling, research, and women’s empowerment in the green mobility sector.
The Centre will offer free EV training for Women, retrofitting modules, entrepreneurship guidance for setting up EV service stations, and certified trainer development programmes.
Supported by leading industries and TNSDC, the Centre aims to shape the next generation of green-skilled professionals.
The event was graced by Kasi Viswanathan, Managing Director, TN Auto Skill – Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, as the Chief Guest, highlighting the State’s vision for high-quality EV skills and industry-ready workforce.

Distribution of E-autos to women
As part of the College’s commitment to social impact, electric autos were distributed to trained women beneficiaries, along with completion certificates in EV skill programmes—empowering unskilled and underprivileged women, auto drivers, and youth with new livelihood opportunities.
The event also witnessed the presence of Secretary Yesodha Devi, the Director, the Deans, faculty members, students of the college, and women beneficiaries. Karthikeyan, President, CODISSIA, were also present.
Distinguished speakers present at the event included Jayanta Mitra, Senior Fellow, TERI; Srinivas Kumar Yerrapothu, Global Vice President, International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (IFEVA), Delhi; Sudhakar, Managing Director, E-Royce Motors India, Coimbatore; and Kalaivani Neelakandan, Managing Director, WIEV Energik, Coimbatore.
Guests from various industries and organisations participated in the function.
The GRG Evolve Hub stands as a significant step towards innovation, sustainability, and women-led green mobility transformation in Tamil Nadu.
