Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology (SRIT) recently hosted TEDxSRIT, a flagship event that brought together thinkers and innovators to explore humanity and technology. The event was themed around human consciousness in an automated world.
Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of the SNR Sons Charitable Trust, inaugurated the event, highlighting the importance of value-driven innovation.
The Chief Guest, Prashanth, Assistant Collector of Coimbatore, shared his journey, “From Gold to Governance,” redefining success as purposeful service and persistence.
Priya Jaganathan, an AI and Automation Strategist, highlighted the dangers of “Living on Autopilot in an AI World,” urging the audience to make conscious choices.
Santosh Karthikeyan, a Data and AI Leader, spoke on “Humans in the Loop,” envisioning a hybrid intelligence in which humans and AI collaborate.
Pratham Golcha, a climate diplomacy advocate, addressed power dynamics in climate action through his talk, “Where Climate Action Fails: The Power of Words, Rooms, and Representation,” emphasising the crucial role of policy writers.
Lija Mohan, a cybersecurity leader, introduced “The Human Stack,” a framework stressing that technology must ultimately serve humanity.
Lt. Vamshi (Retd.), a former Army officer, challenged the audience with “Do You Have It in You?” highlighting resilience and self-discovery.
Siddhant, a cardiothoracic surgeon, shared insights in “Count to Seven,” drawing lessons about preserving life and relationships through critical, life-saving decisions.
Group Captain Ranjit Isaac (Retd.), a veteran, concluded with “As Intelligence Becomes Artificial,” emphasising that human qualities such as empathy remain essential for survival.
Adri Jovin spoke on “Rethinking Learning in the Age of AI,” guiding students on the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
The event underscored the importance of resilient, purpose-driven individuals in an era of rapid AI advancement. It served as a platform for the SRIT community and the people of Coimbatore to engage in meaningful discussions about ideas shaping our future.
