The Research and Development Cell and the Department of Commerce with the Professional Accounting of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, organised a three-day national workshop on Advanced Research Methods and Statistical Techniques for Social Science Researchers, recently at the college.
The workshop was conducted with the sponsorship of the Indian Council of Social Science Research – Southern Regional Centre (ICSSR-SRC). It saw the participation of 57 delegates from 25 institutions, including Pondicherry University, Bharathiar University, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, and other autonomous colleges.
Saravanan, Principal of the college, delivered the presidential address, while the felicitation address was delivered by Banudevi, Dean – Commerce and Management. The inaugural address was delivered by Krishnamoorthy of Kongu Engineering College, who emphasised the importance of rigorous research design and analytical depth.

The technical sessions focused on research problem formulation, literature review, modern data collection methods, research design, inferential statistics, and advanced analytical techniques. The sessions were handled by eminent resource persons Ganeshkumar, Sekkizhar, Uma Shankar, Kasilingam, and Mathivanan.
The workshop significantly enhanced the methodological competence of the participants and reinforced the institution’s commitment to research excellence and academic integrity.
