PSG College of Nursing conducted the Lamp Lighting and International Pledge Ceremony on 8 January 2026.
Jeyadeepa, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address. The ceremonial lighting of the Kuthuvilakku symbolised knowledge, compassion, and dedication to service.
The Chief Guest, Shanti Teresa Lakra, Padma Shri awardee and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife / MPHW (F), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, inspired the students with her message of service and commitment to community health.
The programme was graced by Marielle Schmied, Senior Lecturer, Haute École de Santé Vaud, Switzerland, as the Guest of Honour.
The International Pledge for Nurses was administered by Dr. Anuratha, MD, Nursing Superintendent, PSG Hospitals, emphasising ethical nursing practice and patient-centred care.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Meera, Vice Principal.
