The Department of Hotel Management & Catering Science at CMS College of Science and Commerce, organised a Cake Mixing and Wine-Making Ceremony at the Training Restaurant at the college premises on 19th December 2025.

The event marked the traditional commencement of Christmas and New Year celebrations, symbolising unity, sharing, and festive cheer.

The programme was presided over by Gereesan, Chairman of CMS Educational and Charitable Trust.

The Chief Guest, Arun Kumar, General Manager, Zone by The Park, Coimbatore, shared his valuable insights on industry practices and festive culinary traditions.

As part of the ceremony, over 150 kilograms of premium dry fruits were soaked in wine and rum for the preparation of traditional Christmas cakes.

In addition, students prepared “three varieties of wine—red wine, white wine, and pineapple wine” as part of their practical training.

The event provided students with hands-on exposure to festive culinary practices, reinforcing experiential learning and industry-oriented training.

Dignitaries at the event include Sajiesh Kumar, Vice Chairman of the trust; Chandrakumar, Secretary; Sasidharan-Joint Secretary; Vijayakumar-Treasurer; Sandhya Menon, CEO; and Vimalanand, Principal of the college.

The entire programme was efficiently coordinated and organised by Steve Deepak, Head of the Department, with active participation from faculty members and students.
