The International Conference on “Advances in Engineering and Computing Technologies for Sustainable Development” (AECTSD-2025) was inaugurated at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC), Coimbatore, on 12 December 2025.
The two-day conference concludes today, 13 December 2025, and is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Madras Section.
Soundarrajan, Conference Chair and Principal of the college, delivered the Welcome Address.
In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of sustainable engineering practices and highlighted the growing need for global collaboration to address emerging technological challenges.
R. Sundar, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, presided over the function and offered his felicitations to the gathering.
The Chief Guest, Pao-Ann Hsiung, Professor and Director, Research Centre on AI and Sustainability, National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan, delivered the Inaugural Address.
He spoke about global sustainability trends, the transformative impact of artificial intelligence, and the significance of international partnerships in advancing engineering research.
In his Keynote Address, he discussed innovative AI frameworks for smart city development, sustainable urban planning, and intelligent resource management.
Brindha, Treasurer, IEEE Madras Section, graced the event as a distinguished invitee.
In addition to the main sessions, a keynote lecture was delivered by
Sabarimala Manikandan, Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad, on the topic, “Advanced Signal Processing and Deep Learning Networks for IoT-Edge Health Data Analytics.”
His session highlighted emerging analytics techniques, IoT-based health monitoring frameworks, and AI-driven diagnostic advancements.
A significant milestone of the event was the signing of an MoU between National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan and the college, enabling prospective collaborations in research, student and faculty exchange programs, joint projects, and academic credit transfer.
A total of 12 parallel sessions were conducted across different venues. The conference received 1200 paper submissions, out of which 143 papers were shortlisted under various cutting-edge technology domains.
Twenty-eight foreign authors presented the outcomes of their research. The review process involved 440 technical reviewers and 10 meta-reviewers, ensuring a rigorous and high-quality evaluation.
The conference was successfully organised by the team comprising Shanmugasundaram, Organising Chair & Professor and Head, Department of EIE; Sathishkumar, Technical Chair & Professor and Head, Department of BME; and Balamurugan, Professor, Department of EEE.
