PPG College of Nursing organised an orientation program for the first-year nursing students who newly joined for the 2025-26 academic year, which was held on 22 September 2025.
Dr. Ashok Kumar from Ashwin Hospital graced as the chief guest, and the event was attended by special guests, including Thangavelu, Chairman of the PPG Group; Santhi Thangavelu, Secretary; Akshay Thangavel, Vice Chairman; and Amuthakumar, Executive Director.
Lingaraj Chitra, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address. In his speech, Dr. Ashok Kumar explained the importance of the nursing profession and its job opportunities.
Akshay Thangavel noted that the college has completed 28 years and has trained excellent nurses who serve the community.
In his special address, Thangavelu stated that nursing is a selfless profession. He added that relieving patients’ pain, bringing light into their lives, and seeing the smile on their faces brings happiness to nurses. He concluded his speech by emphasising that job opportunities are abundant in India and worldwide and that perseverance leads to success.
Senior students of the college shared their experiences. Bishop Methuselah, a faculty member, addressed the students about safety awareness. Angel Rose, Assistant Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.
