The Department of Commerce with Information Technology, Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore, organised an industrial visit (IV) for the III B.Com (IT) students on 17th September 2025 to Sunrise Rigid PVC Pipes, a manufacturing unit of L.G. Industries, located in Koteswar, Udupi, Karnataka.
During the visit, Harsha Kamath, Managing Director, shared valuable insights into the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs. Following this informative session, the students were taken on a guided tour of the manufacturing unit, where the supervisor provided a detailed explanation of the step-by-step process involved in the production of PVC pipes.

On the following day, 18th September 2025, the students visited Pizhikula Nisardhama, a cultural site managed by the Karnataka Development Authority of India, located in Mangalore.
The first stop was the Pizhikula Artisans and Heritage Village, where students explored various traditional artisan crafts such as handloom weaving, pottery making, blacksmithing, stone carving, carpentry, bamboo handicrafts, and Toddy Jaggery production. This hands-on experience helped students understand the importance of preserving unique traditional art forms and crafts.
The second stop was Guthu Mane, an architectural marvel representing the traditional house of coastal landlords. Here, students learned about the region’s heritage, culture, and traditions. The visit also provided exposure to local folk arts and sports such as Kamnala and Yakshagana, along with traditional dances and attire.
A total of 43 students and 3 faculty members benefited from these enriching and educational experiences.
