The Department of Social Work at Dr. NGP Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, through its SARVAM Association, in collaboration with Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Ukkadam, organised a street play to emphasise the importance of education on the title “Educate to Elevate” at Gandhi Nagar, Sungam, on 11th September 2025.
A programme aimed to create awareness on the power of education in transforming individual lives and uplifting society.
The play depicted the struggles of families deprived of education and highlighted how knowledge can empower people to overcome challenges, eradicate social evils, and contribute to nation-building.
Madhulaa, Head of the Department, and Esther Shalini, Faculty Coordinator, Department of Social Work, guided the students.
The event was coordinated by student representatives Nithish Kumar, Karishma Sharon, Sagaptha, Alwin Johnson from I MSW and Sri Venkatesan from II MSW.
The Chief Guest, Josin, Project Co-ordinator (DB4M), appreciated the students’ efforts and emphasised that education is the foundation of social change and progress.
The organisers extended their gratitude to Vino Vicky, Field Officer and Balakrishnan, Field Coordinator, for their support in organising the program.
The initiative received positive feedback from the public, who lauded the students for their meaningful performance and social message.
