Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) recently hosted a program on ICC (Internal Compliance Committee) Awareness and Review Meeting on August 29, 2025.
The event aimed to educate students about the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Kowsalya, Associate Professor, welcomed the attendees and explained the objective and purpose of forming the ICC.
The chief guest, Kalpana Saravanan, Entrepreneur and Social Activist, delivered a keynote address, highlighting the significance of the PoSH Act and the Vishaka Guidelines against Sexual Harassment.

She discussed various incidents of sexual harassment and how the act applies to such cases, emphasising the need for awareness and prevention.
During the event, Kalpana also pointed out the difference between a parented child and a pampered child, sparking a thought-provoking discussion among the attendees.
A meeting was conducted with girl students to address issues related to sexual harassment, providing a platform for them to share their concerns and experiences.
The program underscored VIMS’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for its students, aligning with its mission to foster a culture of respect and inclusivity.
