The Orientation Programme for first-year B.E., B.Tech, and M.Tech (5-Year Integrated Programme in Computer Science and Engineering) students of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College was held over two days, on 20th and 21st August 2025, at the college auditorium.

Soundarrajan, Principal of the college, along with the Student Affairs Cell team, welcomed the gathering. R. Sundar, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, delivered the presidential address on both days.

On the first day, the Chief Guest was Archana, Global Program Manager at Juniper Networks, Bengaluru. Her inspiring address revolved around the theme: “In one’s hands lies the potential to succeed.” She encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, develop diverse skills, and contribute to the creation of institutions and programs.

She also emphasised the importance of maintaining a positive mindset in the face of adversity, stating that resilience is key to overcoming challenges.

As part of the day’s events, the Centre of Excellence in Juniper AI–Driven Campus was inaugurated by the Chief Guest in the Computer Science and Engineering Department.

Priyadarshini Shanmugham, alumna of the college and Director at the Bank of New York, Chennai, served as the Guest of Honour. She highlighted critical success skills such as technological adaptability, conflict resolution, teamwork, self-learning, and entrepreneurial thinking.

The second day featured Bala, Chairman of the AICTE Southern Regional Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Steering Committee, Ministry of Education, as the Chief Guest.

In his keynote, he urged students to “think global, not local,” focus on skills over degrees, and work toward solving real-world problems. He introduced the ‘Three Cs’—Right Choice, Right Chance, and Right Career—and emphasised the importance of ‘PCPC’: Patience, Curiosity, Passion, and Commitment.

The Guest of Honour for the second day was Sheinraj Sundaram, alumnus of the college and Technical Expert at Bosch Global Software Technologies, Coimbatore. He advised students not to be discouraged by short-term setbacks and encouraged alignment with current industry trends, continuous upskilling, and pursuing certifications to supplement the academic curriculum.

The event also saw the presence of Mahesh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer, as well as organizing team members Sakthivel and Vichitr Shivaji, along with various Heads of Departments and faculty members.

Students who secured top marks in the first and second semesters were honoured at the event by the dignitaries.
