As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS), Coimbatore, hosted a rally titled “Walk for a Plastic-Free Tomorrow” on October 8, 2025, with the support of the Inspector, CID, and other police personnel from Kovilpalayam Police Station.

The rally was conducted from the college campus to Kunnathur, a nearby village, and was inaugurated by Valarmathi, Director of VIMS.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and to encourage individuals to adopt sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyles.

Students and faculty members actively participated in the rally, carrying placards and banners promoting the message to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastic.

Through this initiative, VIMS reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability. The institute’s efforts align with global movements to mitigate the environmental impact of plastic waste and to promote conscious living among communities.
