Nirmala College for Women organised its 42nd Graduation Day ceremony on Saturday, where a total of 900 graduates, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, received their degrees.
The ceremony commenced with Sulochana Shekhar, Vice-Chancellor (i/c) of the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, serving as the Guest of Honour. She delivered the Graduation Address and distributed degree certificates to the graduating students.
In her address, she urged the fresh graduates to leverage their education—which stands on the foundation of institutional legacy, parental sacrifice, and teacher guidance—to lead with empathy, ethical courage, and multidisciplinary thinking in an increasingly AI-driven world.
Encouraging the young women to view setbacks as opportunities for personal and professional growth, she called on them to confidently claim their seats at decision-making tables while ensuring they actively lift other women along the way.
She concluded by emphasising the importance of living with integrity, urging graduates to transform their personal achievements into a lasting legacy of service to society.
The ceremony also featured felicitations for the new graduates extended by Kulandai Therese, Secretary of the college. Following the address, Mary Fabiola, Principal, administered the graduation pledge to the batch.
