PSG College of Physiotherapy held its 23rd graduation ceremony today, where the chief guest, Dr. Suman, Medical Director, VGM Hospital & Lalithaa Hospital, Coimbatore, presented degrees to 41 Undergraduates from the 2021 batch and 14 Postgraduates from the 2023 batch.
Mahesh, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address, while L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the event.
The oath was administered by Ashraf, Vice-Principal, reaffirming the graduates’ commitment to professional ethics, responsibility and service.
Addressing the graduating students, the Chief Guest delivered an inspiring message, encouraging them to approach their professional journey with confidence, positivity and a willingness to learn. He emphasised that there is “no substitute for true education” and highlighted the importance of learning languages, maintaining physical fitness and developing effective communication and interpersonal skills.
He encouraged graduates to build friendships, expand professional networks, value teamwork and remain connected with their families.
Urging them to embrace new opportunities, he highlighted the three A’s—Acceptability, Accountability and Availability—as important principles for personal and professional growth.
Drawing from his life experiences and insights from “The Secret”- Book by Rhonda Byrne, he advised graduates to view failures as learning experiences, remain positive during challenges and continue progressing as lifelong learners.
Awards and Honours
The ceremony also recognised students who had demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and overall excellence during their course of study.
From the B.P.T. 2021 batch, Deekshitha received the Sri P.S. Govindasamy Naidu Memorial Award for the Best Academic Graduate, while Rishaba received the Sri P.S. Govindasamy Naidu Memorial Award for the Best Outgoing Graduate. Nagda Yukti Nirmal was honoured with the Sri PSG & Sons’ Charities Trust Award as the Best Intern Graduate.
L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, honoured the special awardees, in the presence of Mahesh, Principal of the college and Ashraf, Vice Principal.
From the M.P.T. 2023 batch, Pavithra received the Sri P.S. Govindasamy Naidu Memorial Award as the Overall Topper Graduate of the M.P.T. 2023 batch.
Rishaba represented the graduating batch and expressed gratitude to the faculty, parents and the institution.
Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Hospital; Dr. Subbarao, Principal, PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PSG IMSR); Dr. Ramamoorthy, Head, Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, PSGH; heads of PSG Institutions, faculty members and family members of the graduates were present and congratulated the graduates.
The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Shanmugapriya, HOD, Department of Basic Medical Sciences.
