As part of the Social Service and Community Development activity, the 6 Tamil Nadu Medical Company, National Cadet Corps (NCC) organised a cancer awareness rally and seminar on 15 October 2025 at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PSG IMSR), Coimbatore.
A total of 274 cadets, along with 10 Associate NCC Officers and 7 Army staff members, participated in the event.
The rally commenced from the college and covered a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometres. During the rally, cadets raised slogans and distributed awareness pamphlets to the public, spreading information about cancer prevention and early detection.
The cadets also formed a ribbon shape, symbolising support and awareness for cancer patients and the public.
Through this initiative, around 2,500 members of the public were reached and sensitised on the importance of cancer awareness.
Following the rally, a seminar was conducted where experienced doctors addressed the participants. The seminar focused on educating cadets about choosing a healthy lifestyle, cancer prevention, early symptoms, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
The programme aimed to promote community health awareness and enhance the social responsibility of NCC cadets.
