The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, conducted a special camp from February 16, 2025, to February 22, 2025, at Athipalayam Panchayat, under the Sarcarsamakulam division.

During this seven-day camp, several welfare initiatives were carried out, including:

  • Awareness campaigns on blood donation, dengue prevention, drug abuse prevention, and organ donation, are conducted through street plays and rallies.
  • Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, cleaning and restoration activities were performed at school premises, a computer lab, a village library, Athipalayam bus stop, a playground, and Amma Children’s Park.
  • Sri Ramakrishna Hospital organized free health checkups, including blood tests, cardiac tests, medical consultations, diabetes screening, and physiotherapy checkups.
  • Sri Ramakrishna Dental Hospital provided free dental checkups, while Aravind Eye Hospital conducted eye checkups.
  • A veterinary camp was also successfully organized for the welfare of livestock.3 50

All these welfare activities were efficiently carried out by the NSS volunteers of Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College for the benefit of the people of Athipalayam Panchayat.

The closing ceremony of the NSS special camp was held on February 22, 2025 (Saturday) at Sri Vaari Vivaha Mahal, Athipalayam Panchayat.

The event was presided over by Shivakumar, Principal and Secretary of the College. The distinguished guests included: Annadurai; NSS Coordinator, Bharathiar University; Ramkumar, Chief Executive Officer, SNR Sons Charitable Trust and Mahesh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer.

The special guests at the event were: Dhanalakshmi, Special Officer, Athipalayam Panchayat; Vijaya, Deputy Block Development Officer; Lakshmi Narayanan, Secretary; Aravindhan, Proprietor, Sri Vaari Mahal and Ramesh Kumar, Chairman, Korandhalar Kulatheiva Mandapam

The NSS camp report, summarizing the activities of the seven-day camp, was presented by Nagarajan, NSS Program Officer.

In recognition of the outstanding service carried out by the NSS volunteers, Dhanalakshmi, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Sivakumar, Principal and Secretary of Sri Ramakrishna Arts and Science College, on behalf of Athipalayam Panchayat and the Panchayat Union Primary School.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Prahadeeswaran, NSS Program Officer, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Pravin, NSS Program Officer.
