Shivanjali’s Temple of Fine Arts, in collaboration with Kumaraguru Institutions, presented a musical orchestral programme titled VYOM: The Space on December 28, 2025.
Shivanjali’s Temple of Fine Arts is an institution founded over four decades ago by His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi.
More than 1,300 people attended the programme. Following its earlier productions JAALAM, SOUL, and ASTITVA, this year’s presentation, VYOM, meaning “space,” explored different dimensions through Indian classical music.
A 62-member ensemble comprising teachers and students of Shivanjali’s Temple of Fine Arts performed during the programme. The ensemble featured vocalists and a range of instruments, including veena, violin, sitar, guitar, flute, keyboard, and percussion instruments.
The programme began with Mallari in Raagam Gambeera Nattai, composed by Kovai Ragunathan. This was followed by Suswagatham, based on Raag Hamsadhwani and composed by Pandit Ravishankar.
The next presentation was Jai Shree Ganesha, a Raaga Malika based on the Ganesha Pancharatnam. This was followed by Pranamam, set to Raag Darbari, paying tribute to Pandit Ravishankar.
The ensemble then presented Chasing the Camel, a Raag Bhairavi-based composition by the Indian fusion band Akasha. This was followed by Swaraamritam in Raagam Charukeshi, composed by Suresh Ramachandran.
The programme continued with Ashateet, a Raaga Malika composition by Anand, and concluded with Om Shanti in Raag Mishra Jog.
In keeping with its tradition, Shivanjali’s Temple of Fine Arts presented the programme under a “Pay as You Wish” model, allowing the audience to contribute donations instead of purchasing tickets.
