Sankara Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Central, inaugurated the Sankara Vision Centre at Thadagam Road, Kanuvai, on 7th July 2025.

The centre was donated by Rtn. Dr. S.G. Jagannathan, an Indian-American Rotarian from the USA, and was inaugurated by his brother.

It has been established in fond memory of Meenakshi Ammal, the mother of Rtn. Jagannathan.

Screening services are offered at a nominal fee of ₹70.

At the centre, after the initial screening, the patient’s report is automatically generated and they are then connected online to a doctor for consultation.

In addition, a doctor visits the centre once a month for in-person consultations and treatment.

Padma Shri Dr. R.V. Ramani, Founder and Managing Trustee of the Sankara Eye Foundation; Rtn. AKS Leema Rose Martin, Director, The Martin Group; along with other Rotarians and faculty members from the hospital, were present at the event.
