An appreciation ceremony was held to honour Rtn. Adv. AKS Sundaravadivelu, Rotary District Governor of 3201, and Adv. Ann. Murugambal, the First Lady, for their distinguished service during their tenure.

The event took place at GV Hall, Cosmopolitan Club, Race Course, and was organised by Zone 1 of Rotary International District 3201, which comprises 50 Rotary Clubs from Coimbatore.

The ceremony featured the recognition and felicitation of 35 clubs, club presidents, and individual members for their outstanding contributions over the past year.

During Rtn. Sundaravadivelu’s tenure, the district undertook a wide range of impactful social welfare initiatives, including medical camps, skill development programmes for youth, and scholarships for underprivileged students.

Notably, the Rotary also contributed to the rejuvenation of local water bodies, with focused efforts on restoring the Kousika river system in the Coimbatore district.

The event was attended by Assistant Governors from Zone 1, senior Rotarians, and community members, all of whom lauded the Governor’s exemplary leadership and the significant service projects carried out under his stewardship.

Rtn. Sundaravadivelu, in his speech, thanked the 50 Rotary clubs of Zone 1 and stated, “This Rotary conference was successful only because of you, dear Rotarians.”

He extended his gratitude to the Assistant Governors, Governor Group Representatives, Presidents, and Secretaries of all the clubs for their support of the conference. He also appreciated all Rotarians by saying, “Because of you, all the projects I initiated were successful.” He added, “I am very happy for this.”

During his speech, he also expressed heartfelt thanks to his advocate colleagues for being with him throughout his tenure. In particular, he showed deep appreciation for his beloved wife, Ann Murugambal, saying, “From the day we were married, she has stood by me as my backbone. When I was less attentive to family matters, she took care of our family with great dedication.”

He then addressed the Rotarians, emphasising: “For any successful man, family is very important.”

In closing, he said, “Let us remain part of Rotary throughout our lives. The friendship we have in Rotary will always stay with us.”

He concluded by assuring the Rotarians: “Whatever you need, at any time, remember Rtn. Sundaravadivelu and Rtn. Murugambal, we are always here for you.”
