The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Centennial recently donated 150 skill development books titled ‘Thiran’, worth ₹10,000, to the 9th standard students of Government Higher Secondary School, Pichanur. The book is a workbook covering three subjects: English, Science and Mathematics.
At the event, Rtn. Velu, a member of the club, came forward to sponsor the college tuition fees of a girl student who scored high marks in her 11th standard. She may choose any field—arts or engineering—and he will support her entire undergraduate education. This initiative is part of the club’s District Priority Project, ‘Daughters’.
Rtn. Govindarajan, President of the club, along with club members, Headmistress Maheshwari, teachers and students, were present at the event.
