The Friends Recreation Club (FRC) and Ramnagar Cricket Club (RCC), two cricket clubs renowned for their cricketing talent that dominated most big teams in Coimbatore during the 1970s, ’80s, and ’90s, recently held their annual reunion at Heritage Inn, Coimbatore.

Many cricketers from these iconic teams played representative cricket and went on to secure employment with leading corporates in Coimbatore.

At the reunion, the members shared, “The reunion was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of cricket, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and shared history—a tribute to the bonds forged on the field decades ago.”

“The room was filled with laughter, stories of dramatic run-outs, unforgettable sixes, match-turning spells, and the inevitable friendly banter that defined the spirit of 1970s club cricket in Coimbatore,” said the reunited club members.

A moment of silence was also observed in memory of teammates who are no longer with us. Their presence was felt through heartfelt stories and touching tributes, keeping their legacy alive.
