Hirotec India, in collaboration with RAAC (Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore), recently conducted a 3.5 km Plogging Walkathon in Keeranatham Village.

The walkathon aimed to promote environmental sustainability and community cleanliness.

The event was presided over by Kavitha, General Manager of Hirotec India. Manu Neethi, Deputy Superintending Engineer from the Highways Department (Road Safety), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Guests of Honour included Sendtil Parthasarathy, Director & Executive Vice President, Hirotec India and Annapoorna Meenakshi, Vice President, Hirotec India.

Devaraj, Vice President, RAAC and Raveendran, Hon. Secretary of RAAC, were also present as a special invitee.

This event combined fitness with environmental responsibility, encouraging participants to pick up litter while walking.

The walkathon, held as part of Hirotec Indias CSR initiative, saw enthusiastic participation from corporate employees, local residents, and environmental activists. The event aimed to reinforce the message of “Plog, Walk, and Go Green”, emphasizing the importance of individual contributions toward a cleaner and greener future.

During the event, the dignitaries emphasized the role of corporate social responsibility in community welfare and praised the participation of individuals in making a positive impact. The initiative aligned with Keeranatham’s ongoing eco-friendly waste management efforts, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining a clean and sustainable environment.

The Plogging Walkathon concluded with the collection of 26 kgs of plastic waste and litter, contributing to Keeranatham’s vision of a cleaner, waste- free locality.

Participants expressed their willingness to continue similar activities in the future, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. This initiative serves as a reminder that small steps can lead to big changes, and when communities come together, they can create a healthier and more sustainable world.
