The Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences at PSG College of Technology organised an Alumni Meet on 2nd August 2025 at the college campus.
This year’s celebration marked the Golden Jubilee (50 years) of the M.Sc. Applied Mathematics program and the decennial celebrations of the M.Sc. Data Science program
The event was graced by distinguished guests of honour, including G. R. Karthikeyan, Chairman, and L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities.
They delivered their addresses, commending the department’s contributions to academic excellence and industry readiness.
Prakasan, Principal of the college, addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of alumni as ambassadors of the institution’s values and vision.
Shina Sheen, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address. Nadarajan, Director of the Department, delivered a talk titled “Looking Back”, recounting the department’s remarkable journey over the years.
A key highlight of the day was the Alumni Feedback Session, where several distinguished alumni shared their journeys and gratitude for the department’s impact on their careers.
The event also featured an inspiring speech by Krishnakumar, President of the Alumni Association, who highlighted the role of alumni in nurturing future generations.
Megala, Faculty Advisor of the Department, proposed the vote of thanks.
The day progressed with an engaging panel discussion titled “The Gen AI Revolution: Reimagining the Future of Education”, featuring eminent alumni who shared thought-provoking perspectives on the role of generative AI in transforming teaching and learning.
This was followed by interactive games and Cultural programmes. The event brought together more than 200 alumni, faculty, students, and many Alumni joined through online.
