PSG College of Pharmacy organised a one-day national-level seminar on “Harmonious Alignment: Integrating Academic Excellence with Industrial Practice in Pharmacy” on 31st October 2025 at the PSG Health Sciences Campus.
During the inauguration, Sivakumar, Professor, welcomed the gathering, and Ramanathan, Principal of the college, delivered the presidential address.
A speaker of the session, Vasanthakumar Sekar, Senior Scientist and Manager at Pfizer, elaborated on the seminar during the inauguration.
The sessions were led by distinguished industry professionals. Vasanthakumar Sekar spoke on “Technology Transfer: From Academic Innovation to Industrial Implementation.”
Vijaykumar Chinnasamy, Project Manager, HCL Tech, discussed “Materiovigilance in Industry: Bridging Innovation and Patient Safety.”
Aathira Udayakumar, Senior Associate Analyst – Medico Marketing, Tech Mahindra Healthcare & Life Sciences, presented on “Challenges and Solutions in Transitioning from Academia to Medico-Marketing.”
The seminar also featured an interactive session that encouraged participants to share ideas on enhancing employability and fostering innovation through academia–industry collaboration.
The event marked an important step towards bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial application in the field of pharmacy. It brought together experts, faculty members, and students from across India to explore the evolving relationship between pharmaceutical education and industry practices.
Speaking at the seminar, the organising committee emphasised the importance of aligning curriculum outcomes with industry needs to produce competent and industry-ready pharmacy professionals.
