The Postgraduate and Research Department of Economics at PSG College of Arts & Science, in collaboration with the Indian Association for Social Sciences and Health and the Centre for Development and Environmental Research (CDER), jointly organised a workshop on analysing large-scale household survey data sets for research in social sciences from 6th to 10th October 2025 at the college.
The five-day workshop was inaugurated on 6th October 2025.
At the inauguration, Ravikumar, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address, and Govindarajan, Founder of CDER, introduced the resource persons and provided an overview of the workshop.

The resource persons included Selvaraju, Consultant for the World Bank and WHO; Geetharani, Professor in the Department of Educational Planning at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration; Manoj Alagarajan, Associate Professor in the Department of Fertility and Social Demography; and Harihar Sahoo, Head of the Department of Family and Generations at the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai.
Senguttuvan, Principal of the college, delivered the presidential address, and Kannaian, Secretary, offered the felicitation address. Selvaraju delivered the inaugural address.

The workshop covered topics including NSSO data, NFHS data, SPSS and STATA software packages, research methodology, and the formulation of research problems.
