The Men’s Athletics team of Dr. NGP Arts and Science College created history by emerging as overall champions for the sixth consecutive year at the Bharathiar University Intercollegiate Men’s Athletics Championship, held at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore, from 10 to 12 December 2025.
The team delivered an outstanding performance by securing a total of 104 overall points and winning 17 medals, including 5 Gold Medals, 4 Silver Medals, and 8 Bronze Medals.
A major highlight of the championship was Abishek (II B.Com BPS), who set a new meet record in the 400 metres event by clocking an impressive 47.5 seconds. Adding to the accolades, the college team also established a new meet record in the 4×400 metres relay.
The consistent success of the athletics team reflects the college’s strong emphasis on sports development, disciplined training, and dedicated coaching. The management, principal, physical education department, and coaches congratulated the athletes for their remarkable achievement and for bringing laurels to the institution.
