The Rotary Club of Coimbatore West held an induction ceremony for 2025-26 at the Residency Hotel, Coimbatore, on 13th July 2025.

Air Commodore Ajay Kunnath presided over the function as the chief guest, while Geetha Padmanabhan, former president of the Inner Wheel Associations in India, was the guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Air Commodore Ajai Kunnath commended the club’s steadfast commitment to social service, calling it an inspiring example for the younger generation.

“In today’s world, community service is not a choice but a responsibility that everyone must embrace,” he said. “Despite their professional commitments, Rotary members consistently devote their time and efforts toward social causes, demonstrating true leadership.

They are not here for recreation; their service stems from genuine dedication. The pride of the nation and deep personal commitment are visible in every initiative I witness here.”

He added that organisations like Rotary Coimbatore West play a pivotal role in shaping the changes that society yearns for. “When people work with unity of purpose, anything is achievable. Rotary sets a benchmark not just in action but in spirit. This district is a trailblazer in implementing community-driven change,” he said.

District officers who graced the occasion included Rtn. Chuk, District Director, RI District 3206; Rtn. Raja Mahendran, Assistant Governor; and Rtn. Balaji, GGR. They were felicitated during the ceremony.

Rtn. Rajendran, Immediate Past President of the club, Rtn. Mohan Chander, Outgoing Secretary and senior Rotarian Rtn. Murali Ramachandran was also present.

The club announced impactful projects like setting STEM laboratories in deserving Schools, Cervical Cancer vaccination for the young girls, Big Bang Innovation Challenge for the students, Global Grant project at Agali and various projects worth more than 2 crores.
