The Nehru Group of Institutions (NGI) launched its community radio station, Nehru Rhythm 88.4 MHz, at the Nehru Institute of Engineering and Technology, Thirumalayampalayam, Coimbatore, recently.

The station was formally inaugurated by Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman of Kumaraguru Institutions.

In his address, he emphasised the vital role of community radio in empowering society, promoting local culture, and providing a platform for meaningful communication. He appreciated NGI’s initiative in launching a radio station that will serve as a voice for students and the surrounding community.

The programme was held in the esteemed presence of Adv. Krishnadas, Chairman & Managing Trustee, Nehru Group of Institutions and Honorary Trade Commissioner of Mauritius – India, and Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary of the group.

In their addresses, they highlighted the vision behind Nehru Rhythm 88.4 MHz and its potential to nurture student talent, encourage creativity, and strengthen community engagement.

The launch ceremony witnessed the participation of management members, principals, faculty, students, and guests.

Nehru Rhythm 88.4 MHz aims to broadcast educational content, cultural programmes, awareness initiatives, and student-led shows, and act as a bridge between the institution and the community.
