About Uma Mohanchandar

Uma Mohanchandar is the Secretary of the National Model Group of Schools and a respected leader in the field of K–12 education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, where she developed a strong analytical and academic foundation.

She began her professional journey as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at PSG College of Technology, one of India’s most reputed institutions. Her academic tenure provided her with deep insights into effective teaching practices, structured learning, and student development.

Uma joined the National Model Group of Schools in 2000, taking charge as Secretary. Since then, she has been instrumental in shaping the Group’s strategic vision, operational excellence, and culture of academic integrity.

Alongside her husband, P. Mohanchandar, Chairman of the Group, she has facilitated the institution’s transformation from a single school established in 1987 into a thriving educational network comprising seven campuses across Coimbatore, Karumathampatti, Udumalpet, and Kotagiri.
