F7 HUB Boxing Promotions organised the second edition of the National Pro Boxing Championship at the F7 HUB Arena in R.S. Puram, Coimbatore on 3rd August 2025.
Following its successful debut in 2023, this year’s championship featured 16 leading professional boxers, including 14 male and 2 female athletes, from across India-including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Mizoram, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
The renowned fighters were Mohammad Shamim (international-level), Mohammad Irfan Hafergulla (Coimbatore), Asad Asif Khan (Kolkata), and Ramandeep Kaur (Punjab).
The tournament featured eight intense preliminary matches, followed by semi-final and final bouts. The event concluded with a ceremony crowning the ultimate champions and awarding a total cash prize of ₹1 lakh, alongside championship shields.
In the women’s division, the spotlight was on Kanishka from Chennai and Ramandeep Kaur from Chandigarh, who battled over six rounds. Kanishka dominated the early rounds with aggressive offence, but Ramandeep’s tactical defence and powerful counters in the final stages led her to a well-deserved victory.
The men’s match, Sharwan Ranjit Das faced off against Mohanraj, culminated in a knockout win for Sharwan. Notable national fighters, including Mohammad Irfan, Asad Asif Khan, and Mohammad Shamim, also thrilled the audience with their powerful performances.
Speaking on the occasion, Rayan, Founder of F7 Combat Co., under the F7 HUB initiative, emphasised the growing popularity of boxing among Indian youth. “Even though our athletes narrowly missed medals at the Olympics, the passion and talent are clearly visible. Events like these not only provide a platform for rising stars but also inspire the younger generation,” he said.
As part of its commitment to nurturing talent, F7 HUB has launched free boxing training sessions for local youth in and around Coimbatore.
The entire event—from sponsorship and ticketing to broadcasting—was managed to national standards, ensuring a professional experience for both participants and spectators.
With combat sports gaining momentum in Tamil Nadu, this event marks a significant step forward in positioning Coimbatore as a hub for professional boxing and fitness-based sporting events.
The tournament is officially sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Council (IBC), marking another milestone in Tamil Nadu’s growing presence in the national combat sports scene.
