Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore invites cinephiles and culture enthusiasts to a special screening of the acclaimed German film Good Bye, Lenin! on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 5 PM. The screening will take place at the Mini Auditorium, Goethe-Zentrum Coimbatore.
The movie was directed by Wolfgang Becker, it is a tragicomedy set in East Berlin during the turbulent autumn of 1989. The story follows Alex Kerner, whose mother falls into a coma, missing the fall of the Berlin Wall. When she awakens, Alex goes to great lengths to maintain the illusion that the German Democratic Republic (GDR) still exists. This clever and moving film became the most successful German movie of 2003, earning numerous accolades.
