Marking breast cancer awareness month, Rao Hospital organised the “Mom and Me” program, an engaging awareness initiative focused on breast cancer, recently.
The event aimed to educate and empower women about breast cancer awareness and early detection.
At the event, Dr. Suganya Kathir, consultant – Fertility & Obgyn of the hospital shared valuable insights on breast cancer prevention and treatment. The program also witnessed an interactive quiz program conducted by Dr. Gopika, consultant, ObGyn of the Hospital, encouraging participants to test their knowledge and learn more about breast health.
As part of the event, the hospital offered free mammograms and breast scans for the winners of the games and quiz, reinforcing the importance of regular screenings in the fight against breast cancer.
“We conduct Breast cancer awareness programs annually, and this year we wanted to focus on women and their mothers, hence the ‘Mom & me’ program. We are all willing to spend money on material things that give us happiness. But this Diwali, we encourage you to gift breast cancer screening to the women in your family. Early detection, Saves Lives!” said Deepika Rao, Director- Admin of the hospital.
Patients, hospital staff, students and faculty from Avinashilingam University attended the event.
